    Description

Offering for your consideration a charming antique Quimper "drop" shape "secouette" snuff bottle or "tabatiere" tobacco bottle dating from the last quarter of the 19th century.
This handsome elongated oval snuff bottle depicts a traditional peasant lady with flower sprays on one side. The reverse side has a delightful geometric pattern with lattice work and an intricate blue "x's" and a tiny four red dot design.  The side has a sweet red chain link border.
The piece measures 3 1/4" long and is in excellent antique condition.
It is unsigned. However the form and geometric patterns are well known by Quimper collectors to be from the Maison Porquier.  AP snuffs were never signed.
