Malicorne Pouplard Beatrix French Antique Wall Pockets signed P B x. fabulous find!
Malicorne is one of the oldest ceramics factories in France. Based in La Sarthe near Le Mans northern France. This factory started in the mid 1700's and produced both high status and everyday wares. Malicorne has produced some of the most prestigious and lovely pieces.
These wonderful matching wall pockets dates from the late 19th to the early 20th century from the mark on the underside and are beautiful pieces of fabulous work from a prestigious long lived enterprise.
They will look lovely on a hall or kitchen wall or for flowers in conservatory or dining room, these are really beautiful pieces of ceramic art.. These are not mass produced pieces - they are totally hand made and painted.
This is the 'Quimper' design in a beautiful signature piece of a Breton Bagpipe or BINION, there is some wear on the fixing slots and some crazing but there are no chips or cracks in these pieces. It is fully signed PBx donating the 'Faience de Plat Etain' of the Malicorne Factory when it was owned and operated by Leon Pouplard and Rene Beatrix latterly Jules Beatrix.
There are no cracks or chips and it sits beautifully especially in the sunshine. There is some crazing in the glaze but it is in otherwise perfect condition,
